This is the second pair of inov8 that I have brought. My old
ones had worn out mainly the tops the bottoms still great so
I went for the talon 212 and was not disappointed. I have
just run cross country race at lamington which was really
muddy. The shoes never let me down, once gripped really well
even in the boggy sections of the course. Thanks to the
sticky compound rubber I never sipped at any point on the
course. The shoe is really light you hardly notice you have
them on your feet. All in all this is a great shoe for race
days when in all conditions muddy or dry . The only drawback
with the talon 212 is the sticky compound it will wear out
quicker than the normal range so I would keep these. Speed
merchants for race day only.
I bought the X Talon as an alternative to spikes, for the
cross country season and so far they have proved to be even
better than I had hoped. The grip is far better than even
the longest of spikes, there just as light and most
importantly for me they offer a lot more support. The only
downside is that the shoe is a little narrow.
I bought these to replace my mudroc's for orienteering. They
are very light and grip well on grass and mud. Not so good
for rock and rough trail, as the sole is pretty thin. I've
just raced the OMM elite in them and had no problems with
grip or blisters and no sign of wear on the shoe yet so very
happy with them.
Love this shoe, superlight, great sole with unbelievably
sticky rubber compound and universal traction grip. Just
found they were too narrow for my wide pronating foot. I
think better suited to low-volume, narrower feet.
